Terms of Service

By creating an account or booking a lesson on BasselTutor, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms apply to students, parents, and all users of the platform.

• Service: We provide personalized science tutoring. We strive to help every student succeed, but we cannot guarantee specific grades or test scores.
• Platform: This website is used to facilitate scheduling, communication, payments, and progress tracking for our sessions.

All scheduling is handled directly in the app. You are never required to purchase a package or commit long-term.

• Free consultation: New students start with a free 15-minute consultation to discuss goals and fit.
• Individual lessons: You book lessons one at a time (or as a recurring schedule) at your hourly rate, with no upfront commitment.
• Locked rate: Your hourly rate is confirmed when you start and stays locked in while you remain an active student.

You pay only after a lesson has been completed — there is no upfront payment.

• After each completed lesson, you may pay via Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal, or use a card on file that is charged automatically once the lesson is marked complete.
• Card payments are processed by a third-party payment processor; we never store full card numbers on our servers.
• Outstanding balances must be settled before booking additional lessons. Refunds, where applicable, are handled on a case-by-case basis.

We understand that schedules change. Cancellations and rescheduling are handled directly in the app, and each booking shows its cancellation cutoff.

• Before the cutoff: Cancel or reschedule any lesson in the app before the cancellation cutoff at no charge.
• Late cancellations: Cancellations made after the cutoff may be charged for part or all of the reserved time.
• No-shows: Missing a lesson without any notice may result in the full lesson fee being charged.

• The messaging feature is strictly for academic support and scheduling.
• Please ensure you have a quiet environment and a stable internet connection for online sessions.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated terms.
